How to Cross-Post TikTok Videos to YouTube Shorts (Without the Watermark)

Repost your TikToks as YouTube Shorts the right way: no watermark, a title people search for, and both uploads from one place. Includes the 2026 Shorts limits.

@watermarkShorts

Upload the original video to both platforms instead of re-uploading the TikTok download. Give the YouTube version a real title, check the music, and you’ll get a second life for every video with almost no extra work.

Why post your TikToks to YouTube Shorts

A TikTok usually does its thing in the first 48 hours and then goes quiet. YouTube works differently. Shorts are indexed by YouTube search and by Google, so a useful video can keep picking up views for months. It’s also a different crowd: plenty of people who never open TikTok watch Shorts every day.

If you’re in the YouTube Partner Program, Shorts views also earn a share of ad revenue. You already made the video, and posting it twice costs you a minute.

Rule one: never upload the downloaded TikTok

The “Save video” button in TikTok gives you a file with the TikTok logo and your handle bouncing around the frame, often with an end card. It has also been compressed twice by then. On YouTube it looks like a repost, and platforms have been open about showing recycled, watermarked clips to fewer people.

Keep the clean export from CapCut, Premiere or your camera roll and use that file everywhere. People searching for “how to remove the TikTok watermark” are usually trying to fix a problem that disappears once you post from the original.

What counts as a YouTube Short in 2026

  • Length: up to 3 minutes. Anything longer is published as a regular video.
  • Shape: vertical (9:16) or square (1:1). A horizontal video is a regular video, whatever its length.
  • Hashtag: #shorts is optional. YouTube detects Shorts from the length and shape.
  • Resolution: 1080×1920 is the sweet spot. It’s the same export you use for TikTok.

Write a YouTube title, not a TikTok caption

TikTok captions are written for a feed that’s already playing the video. YouTube titles are written for search and for a thumbnail grid, and that’s where most cross-posted Shorts go wrong. Titles can be up to 100 characters, but the first 40 or so do the work.

Add a line or two of description with the keywords you’d expect someone to type, and 2 or 3 relevant hashtags. Skip the #fyp-style tags, which mean nothing on YouTube.

Watch out for music

Sounds picked from TikTok’s library are licensed for TikTok, not for YouTube. If your video has a trending sound baked in, the Short can get a Content ID claim or be muted. Two safe options:

  • Export the video with your original audio or voiceover and no library music.
  • Use tracks from the YouTube Audio Library, or music you have the rights to, in your editor before exporting.

Post to TikTok and YouTube Shorts at once

With PostAllFeeds, both uploads come from a single post:

  1. Connect TikTok and YouTube from the Accounts page. Both sign-ins happen on TikTok’s and Google’s own pages.
  2. Create a Video post and upload your original, watermark-free file.
  3. Write the TikTok caption, then choose who can view, comment, duet and stitch. TikTok asks for these on every post.
  4. Set the YouTube details: a searchable title, privacy (public, unlisted or private), and whether it’s made for kids. Vertical videos up to 3 minutes go up as Shorts automatically.
  5. Publish now or schedule it. You can also send it to your TikTok inbox as a draft and add a trending sound in the TikTok app before posting.

The same post can go to X, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Mastodon too. The full cross-posting guide has the limits for each.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Both platforms allow content you own to be posted elsewhere. Upload the original file rather than a TikTok download, so the Short has no watermark and is not compressed twice.

Up to 3 minutes, as long as the video is vertical or square. Longer or horizontal videos are published as regular YouTube videos.

No. YouTube classifies Shorts by length and aspect ratio. #shorts is harmless, but a clear, searchable title does more for you.

You don’t need to. Post the original video you exported from your phone or editor to both platforms. PostAllFeeds uploads that same file to TikTok and YouTube, so neither copy has a watermark.
